Researchers attend the ADPD Conference


HIHG and DHG researchers are attending the 13th International Conference on Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases (ADPD 2017) in Vienna, Austria.

Dr. Margaret A. Pericak-Vance, Director of the John P. Hussman Institute for Human Genomics, Executive Vice Chair of the John T. Macdonald Foundation Department of Human Genetics, and a John T. Macdonald Professor of Human Genetics, presented a talk entitled “Family Based Analysis of Whole Genome Sequencing in White, Non-Hispanic Populations” as part of the CASA Consortium Family Group.


In the photo above, Dr. Pericak-Vance and her collaborators’ discovery of the APOE-4 gene in 1993 is noted as one of the landmarks in Alzheimer’s Research (Corder et al., 1993).
