Human Genetics and Genomics Seminar Series: Lily Wang, Ph.D.

The Dr. John T. Macdonald Foundation Department of Human Genetics and the John P. Hussman Institute for Human Genomics present the Human Genetics and Genomics Seminar Series for the week of April 17th. The topic is “Statistical models for biomarker analysis of DNA methylation data” and will be presented by Lily Wang, Ph.D., Associate Professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences, Division of Biostatistics, at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Dr. Wang received her doctoral degree in Biostatistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her research interest is to develop effective statistical models for the analysis of high throughput genomics datasets. Her recent work includes development of mixed effects models for pathway-based analysis of gene expression datasets and genome-wide association studies. Over the past 11 years, Dr. Wang has collaborated with clinical and basic science researchers on a variety of projects ranging from basic science and high-throughput genomics to clinical trials.

The presentation will be on Monday, April 17, from 4:00 to 5:00 PM, in the Biomedical Research Building Third Floor Atrium, 1501 NW 10th Avenue, Miami, Florida 33136.
