Division Chief, Medical Genetics and Genomic Medicine
The Dr. John T. Macdonald Foundation Department of Human Genetics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, in collaboration with the John P. Hussman Institute of Human Genomics (HIHG), is seeking a chief of the Medical Genetics and Genomic Medicine Division. The Division Chief will oversee the clinical operations of the medical genetics group of physicians, manage clinical services, direct a medical genetics fellowship program and promote clinical research. While the division maintains an active, traditional pediatric medical genetics practice, it is directly involved in the emerging practice of genomic medicine at all ages, working with the Center for Genomic Medicine in the HIHG. Therefore, this is a tremendous opportunity for individuals with experience in medical genetics and an interest in expanding the practice of genomic medicine. He or she will be responsible for maintaining a high level of excellence in education, team-based research, and clinical programs, with the long-term goal of securing the growth potential of the department as it expands to provide academic and clinical services for a variety of projects. The applicant will work closely with members of the HIHG in pursuit of these objectives as well. The successful candidate will have a strong record of scholarly work, particularly in translational research, and will possess an MD or MD/PhD, and board certification in Medical Genetics, and either Pediatrics, Internal Medicine or Medicine/Pediatrics.

Laboratory Director, Molecular Genetics
The Dr. John T. Macdonald Foundation Department of Human Genetics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, in collaboration with the John P. Hussman Institute for Human Genomics (HIHG), is seeking a laboratory director for Clinical Molecular Genetics. Responsibilities will include the interpretation, reporting, and consultation of a spectrum of DNA diagnostic assays, the establishment of new testing protocols, and the performance of routine administrative duties in directing the general operations of the laboratory. The director of the Molecular Genetics Laboratory will be required to collaborate with other laboratory directors in a collegial and team-oriented atmosphere, and to contribute meaningfully to the teaching and research goals of the department. The successful candidate will possess a PhD or MD, have experience in supervision of a CLIA-certified laboratory, and will be already certified by ABMG as a Clinical Molecular Geneticist.
