Deborah S. Barbouth, M.D., F.A.C.M.G.
Dr. Deborah Barbouth is an Assistant Professor and Interim Clinical Director at the Dr. John T. Macdonald Foundation Department of Human Genetics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida and Medical Director for Newborn Screening for South Florida. She is also the director of the Victor Program for Jewish Genetic Diseases at the University of Miami.Dr. Barbouth is board certified in Pediatrics, Clinical and Biochemical Genetics. She maintains her clinical practice at the University of Miami, where she joined the Faculty in July 2005.
Dr. Barbouth received her medical degree magna cum laude with honors from Maimonides University in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her clinical training in Pediatrics was at Jackson Memorial Hospital/ University of Miami. She then completed clinical training in Medical Genetics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the University of Miami. There she received extra training in clinical biochemical genetics. Dr. Barbouth has presented numerous abstracts and platforms at scientific and professional meetings and has published articles in prestigious journals. She is also actively involved in clinical biochemical research and Jewish Genetic Diseases.
